Plant Care Guide
Air Plants
Water: Water every 1-2 weeks by soaking in room temperature water for 5-10 minutes. Light: Bright indirect light. Tips: Can use a grow light if you don't have enough access to sunlight. Air plants would need 12 hours of exposure to fluorescent light per day.
Bromeliad Guzmania
Water: Water once a week but make sure it drains and goes dry between waterings. Light: Medium to bright light and can tolerate low light. Keep out of direct sunlight. Tips: Mist once or twice a week.
Calathea
*note there are many variations of how your Calathea may look, but they have the same care instructions. Water: Water weekly with room temperature water. Don't let the soil dry out and water when they soil on top starts to become dry. Light: Don't keep too cool. Bright indirect sunlight. Don't expose to too much sun. Also tolerant to lower light areas. Tips: Insufficient water or overwatering can cause yellow leaves. They like warm, moist air. Likes to be misted underneath leaves.
Boston Fern
Water: Water consistently and keep soil evenly moist, not wet. 1-2 inches of water per week. Loves humidity. Mist regularly. Light: Position near a window that gets morning or late afternoon sunlight. Keep away from strong sunlight. Tips: Brown tips occur when the soil is too dry or humidity is too low.
Cascade/Cat Palm (Chamaedorea Cataractarum)
Water: Good drainage is essential. Water when top 2 inches of soil are dry. May need watering up to twice a week depending on how dry your home is. Light: Medium or bright indirect light. Will suffer from direct sunlight and can tolerate less light. Tips: Mist daily to keep it humid.
